Emergency Maintenance Notification – Leased Line Maintenance (HEX8&9 / LD8)

The following notification is to inform you of emergency planned maintenance which may affect your services.

Start:     27-09-2017          00:00
End:       27-09-2017         06:00

Affected Services:

Network and Transit:

Extended service or interruption for a subset of the following services:

  • Dedicated Ethernet services
  • MPLS and PWAN Breakouts

Service Impact:

Network and Transit:

Extended loss of availability of some leased line customers as fibre repair work is undertaken.
Resilient services will reconnect as services are failed-over between data-centres.
Non-resilient services will experience a loss of forwarding for the duration of the repair work.

Outage Reason:

Proactive monitoring has detected potential issue with a fibre path into our point of presence in Harbour Exchange 8&9 (Equinix LD8), utilised by a selection of leased line customers.
The maintenance is required to ensure continuity of the service going forward before this has the opportunity to escalate into a service affecting issue.

Repair works will result in an extended loss of service for some customers on our network who have leased line services that terminate in the DC.
The window for this work is four hours, but the actual impact is expected to be shorter than this as repairs will be performed concurrently on both ends of the network fibre to ensure full testing before returning to active service.

Should customers continue to have issues beyond the completion of the maintenance window, please raise this to the attention of our support teams through your primary support channels (typically the Syscomm Portal).
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your patience during these essential works.
